That drive is only one of the things Linkage runs on.
For people coming home from incarceration, transportation is one of the biggest barriers to staying connected. Linkage reimburses every artist at the federal mileage rate — because showing up shouldn't depend on what you can afford.
Last fall, 29 Linkage artists gathered for Friendsgiving — no agenda, no performances, just a meal and time together.
Getting everyone in the room cost over $2,700 in mileage reimbursement alone. That's before the food, before the art supplies, before anything else.
