If you're installing work in REBIRTH — or picking up work from the Loudest Silence exhibit — we need you there Friday between 10 and 2. Here's what to know: - RSVP is required. Email works too (sunrath@linkagecommunity.org) - What to send Sarah by WEDNESDAY (6/3): title(s) of your work, year created (if known), medium, price if it's for sale + how buyers can reach you, and the artist name you want displayed. Not sure about the price/contact piece? Just let me know and we'll figure it out together. - Transportation a barrier? Say the word. We'll work on it. - Travel reimbursement is available (and we now have an opt-out option if you don't want it). - Lunch is provided because... of course it is.
One sad note: Writer's Circle is canceled this Friday so we can all be at REBIRTH where we belong. I'm genuinely a little heartbroken about it but also — ART EXHIBIT. We'll be back.
MJF EXHIBITION CURATION MEETING | Tuesday, June 9 — 9–10am The title for our traveling Michigan Justice Fund exhibition is almost locked in (top three below — stay tuned for the announcement!). This meeting is where we dig into curation — which pieces, how they're presented, what story we're telling together. Before the meeting: Self-nominate any work you want considered! These will be digital reproductions, which means ALL of your previously exhibited PCAP work is eligible. Kayla Mach — DJ K-LaLa to those who know — just graduated from Western Michigan University with her bachelor's degree in Social Work this spring (WOO HOO)!!! And that's not even the whole story. Last December she completed her peer-recovery coaching certification. She's a Resident DJ at @unitynmusic517 AND an Organizer for @femtronicafest. She is out here healing people, building community, spinning records, AND getting her degree — simultaneously. Kayla, you are a total badass! The Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation — home of the world's largest free jazz festival — is looking for a visual artist to design their 2026 official poster. And the selected artist gets $2,000, two Opening Night Party invitations, and their name attached to a festival with a global audience.
